Chrome Yellow partnered with COMEXIM Ltda to present a Brazilian decaf that respects the origin its from. This coffee comes from Minas Gerais highlands where the cherries ripen at around 1200 meters, a setting that shapes sweetness and balance even through decaffeination. The Swiss Water Process is central here, a chemical free method that removes caffeine while aiming to preserve the coffee’s inherent character and complexity so the cup remains identifiable to the origin. In this decaf, the roaster believes the terroir and process converge to deliver a thoughtful, drinkable cup rather than a mere caffeine-free alternative. In the cup, it tastes like cocoa powder, nutty notes, a bright citrus hint, and a subtle black tea finish. The sweetness balances gently with a mild acidity, revealing a clean and approachable profile. The roaster describes the taste as embracing the chocolatey cocoa with a warm nutty backbone and citrus lift, offering clarity and balance that makes this decaf feel like a genuine Brazilian coffee experience rather than a workaround for caffeine. This is a thoughtful pairing for quiet mornings or after-dinner sips, where the decaf can stand up to milk or stand on its own with a comforting finish.
