Gesha doesn’t usually look like this. At Jardines del Edén, tucked high in the mountains of Pijao, Carlos and Felipe Arcila are growing a version of this legendary variety that turns yellow instead of red. It’s rare. Like, really rare. And it brings something different to the table—more tropical fruit, more rounded sweetness, and a body that leans toward juicy rather than airy.
The Arcila brothers first planted Yellow Gesha in 2019, using seeds sourced from Mauricio Shattah’s award-winning La Negrita farm. At 1,850 meters, the trees have settled into their terrain beautifully. Since the first harvest in 2022, every lot has cupped above 88.5—and it’s not hard to see why.
This coffee holds on to Gesha’s signature florals, but builds on them with crisp apple acidity, soft tea-like sweetness, and bursts of tropical flavor. It’s precise without being delicate. Distinct without being loud. A varietal expression that’s both thoughtful and unforgettable.
