Driftaway partnered with Quebraditas Coffee Farm in Huila to bring Ombligon to curious home brewers. Ombligon is a rare Arabica varietal native to the region, named for the belly button shaped bean. This lot comes from producer Edinson Argote and thrives at elevations around 1800 meters. The processing method, Advanced Natural, highlights fruit sweetness and a silky mouthfeel that lets the origin shine. The roaster describes the taste as it tastes like cherry cola, raspberry, and dark chocolate, with a balanced sweetness and bright acidity. This flavor profile is rooted in the varietal and the natural processing, and in the terroir of Huila where altitude and climate amplify fruit-forward character. The cup presents a lively yet refined profile that invites both curiosity and appreciation for the work of the farmer and the craft of the roaster.
