From Flower Child's perspective, Gaharo is a bright Burundi coffee nurtured in partnership with Long Miles Coffee Project on Gaharo Hill. The roaster partnered with Long Miles to bring this lot to your cup, a representation of the Red Bourbon variety grown by the community on Gaharo Hill near Murumvya. This collaboration reflects Flower Child's enduring commitment to Burundi and to the growers who tend these hills. Origin and process context: Region Murumvya, Burundi; Altitude 1,700-2,100 meters; Process Washed; Harvest July 2025.
The people of Gaharo Hill have produced a wonderful Bourbon representation, with a careful washed workflow and drying on traditional African raised beds to highlight cleanliness and clarity in the cup. The roaster describes the taste as orange, floral and grapes. It tastes like bright citrus, delicate floral notes, and grape-like sweetness, with a balanced acidity and a clean, enlivening finish. This cup reflects the region's terroir and the distinct characteristics of the washed process, delivering a coffee that is approachable for home brewers across brew styles.
