Frequent Coffee’s Watermelon Splash is their first co-ferment release, and it’s a light-roast decaf made to feel fun without getting messy.

The coffee comes from Colombia, with cherries sourced from smallholders in Tolima, Huila, and Caldas around 1,750m, then processed at El Vergel Estate. After an anaerobic start, it goes through a honey process and a five-day watermelon co-ferment with yeast, then dries and rests before export. It’s finished with Swiss Water decaf, which helps keep the cup tasting clean and sweet.

The roaster says it tastes like watermelon, raspberry, and bubblegum with bright citrus-like acidity. In plain terms, it might remind you of juicy fruit candy and zesty citrus, but still with the clarity you want from a good decaf. They also note the beans can look darker than you’d expect, even though it’s roasted light.
