Portrait Coffee partnered with La Bastilla Coffee Estates to bring Nicaragua's Jinotega Geisha to your cup. This lot grows between 1300 and 1500 meters above sea level and underwent a natural anaerobic fermentation in temperature controlled tanks. The result is a coffee that emphasizes varietal character while maintaining clarity. The roaster describes the taste as mango and papaya up front, followed by honeyed sweetness and a green tea finish. These notes reflect the Geisha profile and the influence of the controlled fermentation, which amplifies fruit brightness without muddiness. This coffee is a vibrant, balanced expression that shines whether you brew it as a clean filter or a lighter espresso. It reflects Portrait Coffee's sourcing philosophy and roasting style: expressive, intentional, and balanced. It was also included as our contribution to Black Is Beautiful, a yearly collaboration celebrating Black led roasters.
